Question: What is the purpose of the Benediction?
18. The Benediction
The Benediction is not a prayer but a blessing from God to the people
as they leave the corporate worship of God
and go into the world to love and serve Him.
-2 Cor. 13:13; Num. 6:24-26; Luke 2:29-32; 2 Thess. 3:16; Rom.
15:5-6

Worship Leaders
Those who served in the Temple and Tabernacle were the Priests and
Levites, at that time, they were males only.
-Ex. 28:40-43; Num. 1:50-54
However, in the NT Peter tells us that all Believers are now Priests
and are to minister unto the Lord.
-1 Peter 2:9; Rom. 16:1; 1 Tim. 4:6
Ushers
Perhaps the closest position to this is Scripture are the gatekeepers
of the Temple.
-Ps. 84 speaks of them and from the prayer it sounds like it is
something we all (male and female, adult and children)
should desire. To my knowledge, there is not prescription or
prohibition related to who may serve as a gatekeeper.
Communion Servers
Since the elements of the Lord's Supper was historically brought by all
the people who attended and since it was placed
on a common table, history shows that the people came forward to
receive and there were no servers mentioned in
Scripture.
-There is NO Scripture prescribibib how or who may distribute the
element.
Worship Team
There are many commands to use instruments in worship
-Ps. 68:24-25; 98:4-6; 149:3; 150:1-6
God ordained choirs as part of Temple worship
-1 Chron. 15:16
Conclusion
The entire worship service symbolizes our relationship with God.
We gather to enter into the presence of God to celebrate His mighty works, His saving deeds in Christ.
We recognize the holiness of God and respond by falling to our knees in
repentance, confessing our sin to Him
.
We receive His forgiveness and respond with thanksgiving.
We are cleansed and are now ready to hear the Word of God.
After the Word is given, we respond with joy and celebration for His life changing Word.
We depart, blessed by God to love and serve Him.
