“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13
In a world full of “terms and conditions,” it can sometimes feel like God’s promises are just hoops we need to jump through. But remember, we serve a gracious God. This verse isn’t about demanding perfect performance from us; instead, it’s an open invitation to a close, loving relationship that has already been made possible through Jesus.
The “seeking” isn’t what makes us worthy of Him; the blood of Christ did that once and for all. Instead, seeking is a joyful response from a heart that knows it has already been found. God isn’t playing hide-and-seek. He is our loving Father, waiting patiently on the front porch. When we shift our focus away from the noise of this world and turn our eyes towards Him, we’ll realize He’s been there all along, offering grace that is completely free and a presence that is never earned.
So today, instead of looking for Him just to be saved (unless you haven't been yet), approach Him because you already belong to Him. He’s given every believer a new heart—now, let's enjoy His wonderful presence with all our hearts.
Gracious Heavenly Father, thank You so much for the gift of my relationship with You. It’s not a mountain I need to climb, but a wonderful gift I’ve already received through Your Son. I ask for forgiveness for the times I try to earn Your presence instead of simply enjoying it. Today, I choose to set aside the “to-do” lists and the pressure to perform. Please help me to seek You with a sincere heart and find comfort in the truth that I’m already Yours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Fully found and Forever free,
Gene
