Jesus, in John 9, right before He’s about to heal the man born blind, says these words in verse 4:

4 We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.

We all have good intentions—at least I know I do. Looking back, we can identify moments when we failed to follow through on our goals. Someone once remarked about good intentions: "Good intentions are the seldom-used exercise equipment that needs dusting.” Ouch!

I could mention numerous instances where our good intentions did not materialize. We all have them, right? As we embark on this work week, let me present a challenge. God has granted us time, and it's ours to utilize; we decide how to spend the 24 hours of each day. We can engage in various activities, or we can choose to be discerning with our choices.

As long as we are alive, we have 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, or 86,400 seconds each day to spend. The choice of how we utilize this time is ours! Each day presents a challenge in how to effectively manage our time. Therefore, review your plans for today and establish your priorities accordingly. Repeat this process tomorrow and each day thereafter. One of the most fulfilling ways to spend time is by connecting with God, seeking Him, and sharing the Good News about what He has accomplished for others through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

As long as it is still day, let us keep sharing the Good News—the work He has called us to do—because night is approaching when no one can work.

Blessings on your journey,

Gene
