Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. — Hebrews 10:23-25

Life often feels like an unpredictable sea, and it's understandable that our hearts might sometimes drift or waver when faced with daily challenges. This passage offers us three heartfelt pieces of encouragement to help us stay steady and strong during these times.

Hold firmly to His faithfulness: Remember, we're encouraged to cling steadfastly to our hope. It's not because our own strength is enough, but because "he who promised is faithful." Our hope is rooted in God's unchanging nature, a God who always keeps His promises.

Stir Up Love and Action: We're not meant to just "hang on" alone. Instead, we’re called to "consider" one another — to think creatively about ways we can inspire love and kindness in our friends and family. Sometimes, a little spark of encouragement from you can make all the difference for someone else, helping them to keep going.

Don't Walk Alone: There's a special strength when believers come together. Whether it's in a big church or a cozy coffee shop group, these gatherings are more than just routines—they are essential moments of mutual support. We especially need to listen to each other's encouraging words "all the more" when times are tough.

Is there someone you can reach out to with a quick text or a kind word of encouragement today? Keep in mind, you're not just holding onto a promise; you're holding onto the Promise-Keeper himself.

Lord, we’re so grateful that our hope is rooted in Your steadfast faithfulness, not just our own strength. As we think about these words from Hebrews, please help us to cling tightly to You, free from trembling or doubt.

Open our hearts to notice the needs of those around us. Inspire us with creative ways to spread love and become a source of strength for our community. May we always feel connected and supported within Your gathering of people.

Today, we find peace in knowing You are the Promise-Keeper. Guide us each day so that we can live out this love in everything we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In Christ, walking this journey together,

Gene
